NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Police have arrested a woman accused of robbing and kidnapping one of her neighbors last month.

Metro police said, Megan Yeargins, 20, surrendered to authorities on Tuesday.

Police said she and a male accomplice, stabbed and kidnapped Readus Westmoreland, 75, then dumped him out in the cold after he agreed to let her borrow $10.

The incident happened on March 26 around Midnight at Westmoreland's home in the 4000 block of Boyd Drive near Kings Lane.

Westmoreland told police that a man and woman, who were wearing hooded sweatshirts, knocked on his door and forced their way inside the home.

According to the police report, Yeargins held him down while second suspect tied his ankles and wrists with tape and stabbed him in the neck.

Police said the suspects then stole the man's car and drove it to White's Creek Pike where they left the victim.

Wearing only a t-shirt and underwear, Westmoreland stumbled to a nearby house.

The homeowners told Nashville's News 2 that he stood at the front door dazed and covered in blood begging for help. The residents called 911.

When police responded, they spotted the suspects in the backyard of the victim's home. The two fled from the cops, leaving the man's wallet and car behind.

"Mr. Westmoreland is the kind of person who wouldn't let just anybody in his house," said Elizabeth Gooch, his neighbor of 35 years. "You just have to be careful with the people you deal with."

Westmoreland suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung, in addition to cuts to his face, neck and hands, according to family members.

Police are still working to identify Yeargins' male accomplice.

Anyone with information on his identity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
