Posted: Updated:

A teenage girl was injured after she crashed her parent's car in west Nashville Wednesday morning.

According to police, a vehicle was caught driving on the wrong side of the road by an officer. He used his intercom system to flag the driver down and told her to move to the correct side of the road.

She then drove around him and took off. Minutes later, he heard a call over his scanner about a nearby wreck.

The officer said it was the same vehicle he flagged down nearby.

For an unknown reason, the 16-year-old driver left the roadway and crashed into a telephone pole.

She broke her leg as a result of the crash and was taken to Vanderbilt University for her injuries.

Officials said she was driving her parent's car. It was not immediately clear if she had her license.

NES was contacted to fix the damage to the pole. No traffic was impacted.
