Temperatures will drop overnight after a wave of severe thunderstorms hit Middle Tennessee.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for nearly two dozen counties on Thursday including Rutherford, Bedford, Coffee and Clay counties among others.

Moving into Friday, temperatures will drop to the mid 40s with clearing skies.

Patches of fog are a possibility in low areas.

Friday will begin sunny with a few clouds rolling in by the afternoon, with temperatures hanging around the lower 60s for most of the day.

Temperatures are expected to jump back to the 70s by Sunday.
