NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Last year Metro Fire and Police, a long with the Davidson County Sheriff's department squared off on a chili cook off.

Today they are playing hockey in first annual ‘Battle of the Badges' hockey tournament at the Bridgestone arena.

Competing in the tournament Sunday are Metro firefighters and Metro police officers.

The Chicago Fire department and St. Louis Police department also sent a couple of teams to participate.

The tournament is raising money for the Children's Miracle Network, which sends money to children's hospitals to help kids and their families.

The network keeps the money in the area in which it was raised.

Children's miracle network has been around for 30 years, and it's raised nearly 5 billion dollars.

While today's hockey tournament is raising money for the network, there is no admission cost. Instead, they ask for donations.

The tournament starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Bridgestone Arena and goes until 5 p.m. this afternoon.
