Charges dropped against man accused of assaulting girlfriends

Charges against Kyle Petko have been dropped. Charges against Kyle Petko have been dropped.

Charges filed against a Clarksville man, accused of assaulting his two live-in girlfriends, have been dropped.

Kyle Petko was taken into custody at his home shortly after 1 a.m. on March 29, after Jennifer Stovall and Victoria Davis claimed he attacked them.

The women told police they shared the home with Petko, and the three of them had been involved in a relationship with each other for a couple months.

They gave police detailed descriptions about the alleged attack, which lead to Petko's arrest.

The 27-year-old soldier was charged with aggravated and simple assault, as well as DUI.

On Friday, the aggravated assault charge was nullied (i.e. invalid), and the DUI charge was dismissed.

A pre-trial diversion was placed on the simple assault charge, meaning Petko is responsible for court fees and the charge can be removed from his record after one year.

Following the initial charges, Stovall and Davis declined a request for interview, but told Nashville's News 2 that Petko was not allowed to come to the home.

After Friday's court appearance, Petko's rights to his home were restored.

Petko's family reached out to Nashville's News 2 to express their concerns about the charges against him and relief over the court proceedings.

His mother described him as "shy, loving, generous and passive by nature."

Petko is expected to deploy in the coming months.
