NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

For the fourth consecutive year, the Metro Police Department and Crime Stoppers are sponsoring two Community Shred Days in 2013 to help prevent families and businesses from becoming the victims of identity theft.

The first event, which is co-sponsored by the Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs, will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the main parking lot of LP Field.

Middle Tennesseans are encouraged to bring all of their sensitive documents they no longer need to the stadium where the papers will be destroyed on the spot by mobile high-speed cross shredder equipment provided by Shred-it, a Securit Company.

Participants are asked to make a $5 tax deductible donation to Crime Stoppers.
