COLUMBIA, Tenn. -

It's all about the Mules in Maury County this weekend.

The weather is expected to be perfect to wrap up this year's Mule Day celebration.

Mule Day is an annual event celebrating all things "mule." It has been popular since the 1840s and has turned from a one-day event into a multi-day celebration.

The big event is Saturday with the Mule Day Parade. There's also plenty of Appalachian food, music and dancing.
Friday's festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with an arts and crafts/flea market. The day ends with a Liars' Contest at 7 p.m.

Festivities continue Saturday with a Pancake breakfast at 6 a.m., Mule Day Parade at 11 a.m., and Mule Pulling at 12 p.m. Noon. The day ends with a square dance at 7 p.m.

Mule Day wraps up Sunday with a Church service at 10 a.m. and Gospel singing at 1 p.m.
