A Metro police officer was decommissioned from charges stemming from a single-car crash that occurred in Goodlettsville Friday night. According to police, Craig Reese was off duty when his 2009 Altima struck a utility pole on Madison Creek Road just after 8:30 p.m. Friday. Investigators reported Reese smelled of alcohol, refused to submit a breath or blood test, was carrying a gun and had three other guns inside his car. Reese, who was the only person inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for his injuries. He was released from the local hospital on Sunday. Reese is charged with DUI, among other charges. The 33-year-old is a seven-year veteran of the police department and was most recently assigned to the Madison precinct's patrol detail.
