Man okay after vehicle gets trapped under semi-truck

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man is okay after his vehicle got trapped underneath a semi-truck early Thursday morning.



The incident was reported just before 4 a.m. along Interstate 440 east at exit 7, the ramp for I-24 east.



Eastbound traffic is affected with the ramp blocked.



Police told Nashville's News 2 the driver dropped his cell phone as he was rounding the curve, went to pick it up, and lost control of his vehicle.



When he tried to re-gain control, he over-corrected and ended up under the truck.



A tow was called in to try and remove the vehicle. As the truck was towing the car, the hook on the bottom of the car was ripped off.

Crews then had to call in a larger wrecker to lift the semi-truck off the vehicle.



No injuries were reported.



The ramp to I-24 east was blocked off while crews worked to remove the car and it has since reopened.



No further details were immediately released.
