Overturned tractor-trailer causes closure on Interstate-40 eastbound

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An tractor trailer overturned on Interstate 40 headed eastbound, causing one lane of traffic to be closed Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred around exit 219 at 12:10 p.m.

Witnesses said it appeared that the driver fell asleep.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were injured and managed to walk away unharmed.

Westbound traffic is affected with no delays.

Eastbound traffic is affected with the right lane closed.

Crews estimate the accident will be cleared by 2 p.m.
