MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
A 42-year-old Nashville woman was taken into police custody after it was discovered she had inappropriately touched a 12-year-old Murfreesboro boy.
The woman is Elizabeth Leigh Garner, a former cheerleader for the Tennessee Titans.
According to police, Garner was drinking at the juvenile's home in February when she followed him into a bathroom and asked him if he had ever been with a woman before grabbing his private parts on the outside of his pants.
Authorities said Garner also tried to take off the boy's shorts and said she wanted to perform oral sex on him.
The victim was able to escape and tell his mother.
Murfreesboro police began the investigation in February. Garner was arrested at her Nashville home on March 14.
It is not clear how Garner knew the victim or his family.
Garner reported to police that she was intoxicated and mistook the boy for another man that was also at the home at the time.
She was a cheerleader for the Titans in 2008 and made headlines on the team for making the squad at age 38.
Nashville's News 2 attempted to speak with Garner at her home Thursday, but no one answered the door.
She is charged with aggravated sexual battery and solicitation of a minor for rape of child.
Garner was released from the Rutherford County jail on $30,000 bond.
