A Nashville man faces multiple charges including driving under the influence after he was involved in a single car accident that shut down a busy roadway Monday morning.
The accident involving Pedro Saravia occurred just after 1 a.m. on Murfreesboro Road near Fesslers Lane, just south of downtown Nashville.
A portion of Murfreesboro Road was closed in both directions for several hours.
Authorities told Nashville's News 2 Saravia lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a pole.
Officers said when he got out of his vehicle officers noticed a beer bottle fell out the car.
The driver was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.
Saravia has since been charged with DUI and driving on a revoked license.
Police said Saravia a four prior DUI convictions dating back to 1999.
