DICKSON, Tenn. -

A Rutherford County man had to be rescued after he got stuck on a cliff in Dickson County Saturday night.

Dickson rescue crews responded just after 6:30 p.m. to the 1200 block of White Road after reports a man was stuck on a cave.

Lt. Wingate of Dickson County Fire and Rescue told Nashville's News 2 the man climbed approximately 60 to 80 feet up the side of a bluff to look inside a cave.

Once he climbed up, he was unable to go any further and was unable to climb back down.

Rescue crews rappelled down to him with a rope.

The man was rescued after approximately 45 minutes.

The Christiana man told officials he was in town visiting friends.

He was not injured in the incident and doesn't face any charges.

The Burns Fire Department and Dickson County Urban Search and Rescue Team assisted in the rescue.
