One person is hospitalized with critical injuries after a shooting Saturday night.The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. at 2509 Delk Avenue, just east of Tennessee State University, and northwest of downtown Nashville.Captain Ken Walburn with the Metro Police Department said the 19-year-old victim was shot once in the stomach and once in the buttocks.The victim told police he was walking to the store at 23rd Avenue North and Osage Street when a tan four-door Buick pulled up beside him.
The victim said that three black males got out of the vehicle and that all of them had guns. One had a shotgun.
He said that the suspects told him to give them his money. He told police that they took about $30 and his cell phone before shooting him.
A witness a couple of houses down states she heard the subjects arguing.
She said that she looked outside to see three black males firing their weapons at someone.
The witness said they took off in a gold 4-door vehicle heading north on 25th Avenue North towards Santi Avenue.
She did not get a good look at the suspects.
An officer located a 380 revolver on the crime scene that is believed to belong to the victim. It was located behind an abandoned house on the victim's path of flight. The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries. Captain Walburn said an argument with several other people led to the shooting. Metro police are searching for the suspects.
