One person was killed in a dump truck accident Saturday morning at a Murfreesboro rock quarry.
The incident occurred at the Hoover Rock Quarry located on Twin Oak Drive around 10 a.m.
John Boyd, 52, of Rockvale, was killed after his truck rolled 60 to 80 feet down an embankment in a rough, remote area of the quarry before landing on its roof.
Since this was an industrial accident, not a road accident, OSHA has been called to conduct an inspection.
Officials told us the truck was an industrial-type of vehicle made to navigate through the rock quarry only, not to drive on the roads.
Boyd was an employee of the Hoover Rock Quarry in Murfreesboro.
Officials said the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
