8-year-old dies after being run over in driveway

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis police say an 8-year-old boy has died after he was run over by a car while playing in a driveway.

Police said Friday that Bryan Guevara died at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital after he was taken there Thursday.

A preliminary investigation has found that the boy was in the driveway of a Memphis home when 38-year-old Magdalena Roman backed out and ran over him.

Police said Roman was arrested for failure to have a driver's license and proof of insurance.

Online court records did not show booking or lawyer information for Roman on Friday afternoon. A police spokeswoman said a report on the incident did not show if Roman is related to the boy.
