NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police are not filing charges in the fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night.

Police responded to a home on Stonewater Drive last night after Tiffany Spence called 911 to report that her estranged husband, 29-year-old Fabian Spence, had been shot.

Police said that an argument developed once Tiffany arrived at the home to drop off their two children.

According to police, Fabian then reached into his rear waistband to retrieve a pistol, and Tiffany wrestled the gun from him and fired it.

He died at the scene.

The couple's 7-year-old son was inside the home at the time of the shooting, while their 5-year-old was asleep in the car.

Neighbors reported that the Spence's kept to themselves. They described Fabian Spence as a "brute" and often heard fighting at the home.

They also said that Tiffany moved out last October, just a few months after the family moved in.

Nashville's News 2 spoke with Tiffany Spence's grandparents at their Nashville home, they said their granddaughter has headed out of town with the kids.
