PORTLAND, Tenn. -
A man who was involved in a standoff with Portland police Thursday afternoon has been taken into custody.
Police were initially called to the home in the 300 block of Reed Street around 1:30 p.m. after receiving a call about an aggravated domestic assault incident.
The victim stated Kyle Serritella struck her in the head with a revolver.
Upon their arrival police found Serritella barricaded inside the home.
Negotiations continued for 45 minutes before authorities entered the home and found the 23-year-old pretending to be asleep.
He was taken into custody without incident around 4 p.m.
Serritella is charged with aggravated assault and felon in possession of a weapon. Additional charges are pending.
