Man found dead on porch in Hermitage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Police said the man who was found dead on his Hermitage porch Wednesday night was shot by his estranged wife.

Fabian Spence was found dead on a porch located in the 1700 block of Stonewater Drive off of Hoggett Ford Road just before 9 p.m.

According to police, Tiffany Spence said the shooting occurred after a struggle over a gun occurred. Following the shooting the 31-year-old woman called 911.

Tiffany Spence said she went to the home to drop off the couple's two sons, ages seven and five, when an argument began on the front porch.

She stated during the argument Fabian Spence attempted to pull a pistol from his waistband. Tiffany reported to authorities that she wrestled the gun from him and fired it.

Fabian Spence, 29, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said the couple's children were not harmed in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
