NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A Nashville man's rental home was damaged in a fire early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported just before 2 a.m. in the 3200 block of Granny White Pike, near Clayton Avenue in the 12 South neighborhood.
Firefighters told Nashville's News 2 that neighbors initially spotted flames and called 911.
The man was not home at the time of the fire. He told officials he had gone out to dinner and came back to find flames shooting out of his house.
The home suffered damage to the front of the home.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and it is under investigation.
No further details were immediately released.
