Blog helps Nashville neighborhood boom

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Another Nashville neighborhood is booming, and thanks to a local blog, it's drawing in newcomers from outside the area.

"You read a lot about east Nashville in the national press and here in Nashville, you read a lot about 12th South," said blogger and co-founder of StyleBlueprint.com, Liza Graves.

Graves said she decided to blog about Sylvan Park, touching on the restaurants, old and new, real estate and the quirky shell Station near the intersection of 46th and Murphy Road

"You can get caviar, Russian soda and vodka chocolates! It's just so funny that it's inside of the shell station," said Graves.

Business owners like Lisa Quinn, the owner of The Willow Tree, said the foot traffic has increased substantially over the past few weeks and months.

"I know this is exactly where I'm supposed to be," said Quinn.

Quinn lost her gift shop at Opry Mills in the 2010 flood and decided to rebuild in Sylvan Park.

"Best decision ever," Quinn told Nashville's News 2.

However, new developments are making business owners a little uneasy.

Walkways and a roundabout at the intersection of 46th and Murphy road are in the design phase.

Surveyors are scheduled to begin work this month.

Parking spaces are already in shot supply, and the contraction could result in even fewer spaces.

"As long as I have a parking spot, I'm a happy girl," said Quinn.
