Over $1 billion in federal funding at stake causes discussion - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports

The possibility of Medicaid expansion in the state of Tennessee was up for discussion Saturday at the Progressive Baptist Church in Nashville.

A group of residents and medical experts in the area spoke to a full house.

Under the Affordable Care Act, the state can choose whether to expand TennCare, which could give coverage to an additional 150 thousand Tennesseeans.

The state of Tennessee stands to miss out on $1.4 billion dollars in federal funding if TennCare is not expanded.
