MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
Dr. Cliff Ricketts completed a five-day journey to drive coast to coast without gas.
The MTSU professor used power from the sun and hydrogen from water to run his Toyota.
Last year he did a shorter trip using only 2.15 gallons of gas.
Dr. Ricketts says he's doing the research and journeys for environmental, economic and world peace implications.
They drove the 2,600 miles in two Toyota compacts that relied on hydrogen energy from water, separated by solar power.
They carried hydrogen with them for the journey.
Researchers say the Toyotas never broke down on the gas less journey.
