Tennessee State advances at OVC Tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

It's a Nashville showdown in the Ohio Valley Conference Semi-Finals Friday night.

The Tennessee State Tigers earned a date with Belmont beating Morehead State 88-75 Thursday night at Municipal Auditorium.

Jordan Cyphers tied his career high scoring 23 points thanks to hitting 3 of 4 shots from 3-point range. Robert Covington added 21 points.

All-OVC guard Patrick Miller had 15 points and 10 assists.

The Tigers (18-13) meet the regular season champions Friday at 6:00 PM.

The winner earns a spot in the tournament finals and is just a win away from an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament.
