Midtown's restaurant scene just got a little more interesting, with two new eateries sharing the same roof. The Mississippi staple, Soulshine Pizza Factory, opened their fourth restaurant on 1907 Division Street in Midtown. "I wanted to be a place where you truly feel loved here," said founder Chris Sartin, who also moved the headquarters to Nashville to be closer to his six year-old daughter."It's a great place for this business because we're so about music. It's like heaven for me," he said. Sartin's menu and décor pays homage to his Gulf Coast home while including tributes to legendary musicians and the Ryman Auditorium.Soulshine is only half of the ambitious concept. The Slider House will share the same roof."A lot of people were coming to us wanting to sublet that side," said Sartin. "We wanted a little more control of the vibe that was going over there and did it fit us?"Sartin and co-owner Dave Wachtel III thought The Slider House fit like a glove."We have slightly different hours, definitely a different menu, personality and vibe," said Chef Hammer, the new head chef at The Slider House."It's definitely a brother-sister restaurant for sure," said Sartin.Soulshine celebrates its grand opening on Saturday, while The Slider House is scheduled to open its doors at the end of the month.
