One night a month, the Nashville Armory hosts an evening of training and shooting just for women.Ladies Night gives women the opportunity to learn and ask questions about guns."I wanted to learn about hand guns and safety," Sara Evans told Nashville's News 2. Evans and her friend, Benedetta Cannestra, attended Ladies Night for the first time on Tuesday."I don't have any type of gun experience," Cannestra said. The Nashville Armory wants the class to be a fun, less intimidating environment for women. "Sometimes when you're in these types of situations as a woman you're scared to ask the questions," Evans said. Cannestra added, "Being in a room of all women makes it a lot easier to ask questions that might make you feel less intelligent asking them about a gun."Instructor Holly Sansom said that is one reason the monthly event has become so popular."It allows them a chance just to get comfortable and ask questions that they wouldn't normally ask in front of their husbands or boyfriends," Sansom told Nashville's News 2.Sansom also added that there has been an increased curiosity among women wanting to learn more about guns.Ladies Night at the Nashville Armory takes place the first Tuesday of every month. The cost is $40 which includes refreshments, firearm rental, ammunition and instruction.
