Man wanted for taking dropped wallet

Gallatin police are working to identify a man wanted for taking a wallet that was dropped in a parking lot last month.

According to police, the victim accidentally dropped his wallet containing $400 cash and blank checks in Station Camp Market's parking lot on February 14.

Upon returning to the store in an effort to retrieve the wallet, he discovered it had been stolen.

Store security video shows a Hispanic male taking the wallet and leaving in a red or maroon Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Authorities reported the victim was later notified by Advance Financial that an unknown suspect attempted to cash a check in the amount of $3,700 made out to the victim.

Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect's identity is urged to contact police at 615-452-1313.
