A Clarksville father was taken into custody after his son's school notified police of bruising on an eight-year-old student's face. Based on the preliminary investigation, it was revealed the boy's father had allegedly beaten him up, threw him on the ground and then kicked him multiple times. Police found facial bruising on the child. The child also said he did not want to back home. The father, Jeffery Coleman, 29, of Clarksville, admitted to spanking the child earlier, but not to the other alleged actions. Police said Coleman was the only person who was in contact with his child.Coleman, was taken into custody and charged with Child Abuse/Neglect. His bond has been placed at $25,000.DCS was notified and the child is being taken care of by a family member.
