Two killed in Henry County fire

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. -

Authorities are investigating a fire that killed two people at a home in Henry County.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department told Nashville's News 2 the fire happened around 9 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Old Mackenzie Highway off of Austin Peay Memorial Highway.

A man and woman, believed to be in their late 50s or early 60s, were killed in the fire. The Sheriff's office is waiting to disclose the victim's names.

A nearby neighbor called 911.  
It was not immediately clear what started the fire. Arson or foul play is not suspected.

The Sheriff's Department along with the State Bomb and Arson Division are assisting in the investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for the two victims.

No further details were immediately released.

Crews plan to be on the scene throughout Friday morning to investigate.
