Four men have been charged in connection with the drive-by shooting that killed a Columbia mother of four from a gunshot wound to the head last summer.
According to the Columbia Daily Herald, Michelle Talavera, 28, was found lying in the street near the Kountry Club nightspot on June 24 with a gunshot wound to the back of her head after a drive-by shooting.
Talavera was hospitalized. She died three days later.
Kevin Gant, 28, of Antioch, was charged Thursday with second degree murder in Talavera's death. He was charged on a warrant since he is already jailed in Maury County.
Gant has been in jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond since July 25 for facilitation of second degree murder and parole violation.
On Friday, Columbia police arrested Earlandus Pye, 22, of Columbia, on a second degree murder charge.
On Friday Maury County Sheriff's Deputies also arrested Justin Frierson, 22, of Mt. Pleasant, and Robert McCoy, 26, of Columbia, on the same charge.
The three suspects total were arrested Friday and remained jailed Saturday in lieu of $500,000 bond each.
Talavera's death and other violent incidents contributed last July to the padlocking of the Kountry Club as a public nuisance.
The police describe the club as a hangout for gang members.
The closure on the night club is being challenged in court.
