Livia Smith was found lying on Barclay Drive by a motorist.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Metro police are still investigating the death of an east Nashville woman found lying in the roadway in east Nashville Wednesday morning.
The body of Livia Smith was reported to police by a passing motorist just after 5 a.m. on Barclay Drive.
Investigators have determined Smith was at the Village Pub off McGavock Pike in the hours before her death.
A pub manager told Nashville's News 2 Smith came into the bar around 8 p.m. Tuesday, had a few drinks, then left around 9 p.m., and got into a cab.
Police are hoping the cab driver who picked Livia up from the bar might know more about her whereabouts Wednesday morning and are hoping the driver will come forward.
At this point they say it has not been determined why she was in the roadway.
Friends and family want answers and are posting comments on Facebook.
One friend posted a picture of Livia's dog and asked someone to come forward who would be willing to adopt her.
She said her dog Ellie was very important to her and they are hoping to find her a good home.
Ellie is a pitbull/dalmation mix. Visit the page on Facebook.
