Titans sign multi-year contract with safety George Wilson

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with free agent George Wilson.

The Titans announced Friday morning, that Wilson, an NFL safety, will join the Titans after spending a majority of the last nine years with the Buffalo Bills.

In a news release, Titans' general manager, Ruston Webster said "George is a quality veteran player."

He added, "He will contribute for us on the field, but his contributions will also come off the field, in the locker room, and in meetings rooms. He was respected as a leader during his career in Buffalo, and will bring that veteran presence to our team."

The Kentucky native was a two-time all-state selection as a wide receiver for Paducah Tilghman High School. He then played at the University of Arkansas, where he gained 144 passes for 2,151 yards and 16 touchdowns in 44 career games.

He led the Razorbacks in receiving during his junior and senior season.

Wilson began his NFL career with the Detroit Lions in 2004 as a wide receiver.

Wilson saw his career-high in 2011, with 104 tackles. He also tied his 2009 record of four interceptions.

Wilson started all 16 games in 2012.
