NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A 72-year-old woman has been charged with multiple crimes after an anonymous complaint concerning illegal drug activity.
Mary Scales of east Nashville was arrested Tuesday after officials discovered more than two pounds of marijuana in her bedroom, along with a teddy bear stuffed with $14,754 in cash.
After receiving the anonymous complaint, detectives with the Specialized Investigations Division detected the obvious odor of marijuana coming from Scales home located at 876 Sharp Avenue.
They obtained a search warrant for the premises resulting in the discovery of the drugs and cash at hand.
Also found in Scales' bedroom was a .45 caliber pistol that was reported stolen last year.
According to reports, Scales was not cooperative during the search of her home and refused to speak to the detectives.
She has been charged with possession of marijuana for resale, unlawful gun possession in the commission of a dangerous felony, theft and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
The 72-year-old is free on $3,000 bond.
Her first court appearance is scheduled for April 11.
