KNOXVILLE (WATE) - For the first time, the mother of a murdered pregnant Knoxville woman is speaking out.
Brandon Scott Donaldson, 22, faces a second-degree murder charge. He's accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend Marcia Crider on Wednesday, February 13 in East Knoxville. He also faces an attempted second-degree murder charge in for shooting at her mother.
Marcia's mother, Renee Jones was in the car with her daughter at the time of the incident. And she desperately wants her daughter and grandchild's killer to be found.
"I am at harm's way. And that is the only reason I am not speaking," said Jones, about why she had to do an interview over the phone. She says she feels her life is in danger. And she does not know what Donaldson is capable of.
"Not only did he hurt my daughter and grandson, there's no telling who else this man will hurt," she added, about why Donaldson needs to be found and arrested.
On Wednesday, Donaldson was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top Ten Most Wanted List.
Knoxville Police say TBI stepped in because of how dangerous they believe Donaldson is.
"We believe he's going to be armed when we locate him. We expect him to possibly engage officers. You never know how someone will react when they are about to be arrested," said Darrell DeBusk with KPD.
He also says they believe locals are helping the criminal.
"We believe strongly that there are people in this area who know where he is. They could possibly even be assisting him to hide," DeBusk said.
Jones says she just wants this to be over. "I just truly want him to be found. I want justice for my daughter," Jones said.
Police believe Donaldson will be found. But they do need the public's help to make that happen.
They remind us that he is armed and very dangerous, and must be approached with extreme caution.
Donaldson's criminal history includes a drug charge involving cocaine. He received three years' probation and is also wanted for violating that probation. He is described as a black male with black hair, brown eyes and also goes by "L" or "Brandon Diggs."
He is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND 911. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
