Though it may not seem entirely feasible, a group of young gymnasts from Let It Shine Gymnastics are still keeping their fingers crossed.
"I think that would be awesome because the state of Nashville having it here would be an honor," Stachurski told Nashville's News 2.
Ryan Jandreski added, "I'd be proud to have the Olympics here because I really want to be in the Olympics and it would be really cool."
"I really hope to be in the Olympics someday," Stevey Joy Chapman said.
Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said in a statement, "We got the letter, along with 34 other cities, and it's nice they thought of us and asked. Hosting the Olympics is a massive undertaking and would be extremely expensive."
The last American city to host the Olympic Games was Salt Lake City in 2002 for the Winter Games.
