Vandals strike little league baseball park in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Tenn. -

Vandals have left their mark on a little league baseball park in Columbia.

Over the weekend, someone trashed the concession stand at Bungle West Park located on Lion Parkway.

According to Columbia American Little League board members, vandals cut the lock and smashed all of the equipment inside.

"The popcorn machines, hot dog machines, hamburger warmers just everything is in the floor," said board member Michael Ayers.

It's not the first time vandals have targeted the park.

A few weeks ago, someone also spray painted graffiti on a storage building there.

"We've just got to do the clean-up work," said Ayers.

The damage is estimated at $25,000.

Approximately 400 kids are part of the little league organization.

The season starts in a month and a half.

The organization relies on money raised in the concession stand to pay for umpires and uniforms.

Anyone with information should contact Columbia police at 931-388-2727.
