Woman recovering after being shot in hip

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A woman is recovering after she was shot outside of a residence in east Nashville Sunday night.

The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South 7th Street off of Shelby Avenue.

According to Metro police Captain Ben Dicke, a 39-year-old female was shot in the hip.

The victim drove herself to Baptist Hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

She did not know the suspect.

Metro police did not immediately have a motive for the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
