A Shelbyville family is demanding answers following the death of nine-month-old Kylynn Sturgeon.
The little girl died on November 10, 2011.
According to an autopsy report, Kylynn's death was caused by a "blunt force trauma to the head."
Kylynn's mother, Amanda Sturgeon, says her daughter was being watched by her boyfriend's mother when she received a phone call that the toddler had stopped breathing.
"In black and white it says its homicide, caused by the hands of another," Kylynn's aunt, Felisha Sturgeon said.
Since the child's death in 2011, the Sturgeon family says the Shelbyville Police Department has not done enough to solve the case.
Alice Sturgeon, Kylynn's grandmother, told Nashville's News 2, "There is no closure, there is none. She's laying over there in the ground and whoever did this is just going on with life like nothing ever happened."
Kylynn's family said they will not stop until they know exactly what happened to the little girl.
"I just wish whoever had something to do with it would get what they deserve and justice needs to be done for Kylynn or none of us are ever going to feel better," Amanda Sturgeon said.
The family has started a petition calling on Shelbyville authorities to further investigate.
