NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
The annual Nashville Predators Fangtastic 5K was held Saturday morning.
The race started at Bridgestone Arena, taking participants through a winding route around downtown Nashville.
The entry fee included a special Nashville Predators 5K t-shirt for early registers and admission to a post-race party at Honky Tonk Central.
The day featured a free 1K Kids Fun Run at 9:30 a.m., the 5K at 10 a.m. and a post-race party at Honky Tonk Central.
A portion of the proceeds for each entry goes back to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Registration, race updates and soon-to-be-released packet pickup information can be accessed through nashvillepredators.com.
"I think people really enjoy giving back to the children's hospital its fun for our players, they see it as a good activity maybe provide a little joy some excitement for kids in need," Executive VP Chris Parker told Nashville's News 2.
Last year through a series of events the Predators donated around $150,000 to the children's hospital.
