McMINNVILLE, Tenn. -

When Tennille Davenport stopped at her Lance Street home for lunch Monday afternoon, she had no idea someone else was inside.

Her husband Matthew Davenport told Nashville's News 2 his wife was startled by a noise coming from the other side of the house.

"There was a lady in my daughter's bedroom," said Davenport. "She asked her what she was doing and the lady said, 'Just chilling.' My wife said, 'No, not in my house you're not.'"

Davenport said his wife stayed calm and called 911.

McMinnville police told Nashville's News 2 the alleged intruder was Alexis Officer.

She took off running from the house and was apprehended a short time later just around the corner from the Davenports' home.

According to police, Officer had in a handgun in her possession which was taken from the Davenport's home, as well as jewelry and other items.

Captain Derwin Adcock told Nashville's News 2 Officer burglarized another home on Fair Street just before breaking into the Davenport's home.

Police recovered everything taken from the Davenports' house, but their new TV set was damaged during the burglary.

"It's frustrating to go to work every day and work for what you got and then somebody that [doesn't] work tries to come steal it from you," said Davenport.

The family said they are thankful none of their three kids were home at the time.

"It could've went worse," said Davenport.

Officer is charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, one count of theft under $500 and one count of theft in excess of $1,000.
