NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
The manager of a south Nashville business prompted a scare Thursday afternoon after he was seen on the roof of the building with a BB gun.
The call went out shortly before 3 p.m. at 3040 Sidco Drive off Armory Drive and Interstate 65.
A CSX Railroad worker first reported the person on the roof with what the worker thought to be a rifle and a scope.
That person was later determined to be a manager of the building, according to Metro police spokesperson Kristin Mumford.
During an interview with officers, Mumford said the man told police he bought a new BB gun with a scope on it and wanted to "try it out."
A matter of record report was filed. He will not be charged, Mumford said.
The incident prompted a large scale police response. Streets in the area were blocked off and a helicopter was circling.
Nashville's News 2 has a crew on the scene.
