Husband charged after woman shot in Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -

A Hendersonville man faces charges in connection to an alleged accidental shooting that seriously injured his wife Wednesday night.

The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. in the 100 block of La Sabre Drive.

The gunshot victim, identified as 26-year-old Ashlee Cundiff, was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where she remains hospitalized.

Her husband, Joseph Cundiff, was taken into police custody after he was treated at an area hospital for conditions unrelated to the shooting.

The 29-year-old man is charged with disorderly conduct as a result of his behavior at the hospital, as well as aggravated assault.

Two children were inside the home at the time of the shooting. They were not injured.

Cundiff is scheduled to appear in court on March 27.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
