NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Over 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled along Interstate 40 after a tractor trailer overturned late Tuesday night.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. on I-40 East at mile marker 212 near the Fesslers Lane exit.
Police said the driver of the truck either fell asleep behind the wheel or lost control.
The driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The tractor trailer was pinned between a guardrail and embankment.
Both of the truck's fuel tanks were leaking.
Three lanes of eastbound traffic were shutdown. The road has since reopened.
