CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
A Clarksville woman faces multiple charges after it was discovered that she was smoking weed in her van with her two-year-toddler inside the vehicle.
According to a report in the Leaf Chronicle, Mary Birchfield was taken into police custody after she was pulled over at Lincoln and Summer streets around 1 a.m.
Birchfield, 34, reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana with another person inside the van.
The child's father was notified of the incident and picked up the child.
Birchfield is charged with child abuse and neglect, as well as simple possession and running a red light.
She remains jailed on a $12,500 bond.
