Police: 4-year-old fatally shoots himself in Memphis - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Police say a 4-year-old boy has been fatally shot in Memphis.

Memphis police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph says officers were called to a home at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they found a 4-year-old boy who had been shot. The boy died at the scene.

Rudolph says a preliminary investigation shows the child was playing with the gun when he accidentally shot himself.

Police are still investigating. No further details were immediately available.
