While the snow has stopped, many cities, including Boston, are working to dig their way out from the snow that quickly piled up over the weekend.
Nashville's News 2 spoke with former Nashvillian Mark Dengler via Skyppe Sunday about the extreme winter conditions in the Boston area.
According to Dengler, the main roadways appear to be in good condition despite several feet of snow.
"I would say some of the main thoroughfares are done. The freeways are fantastic, but the side streets are still rough. In fact we just walked up and the cars are still buried," he said.
Dengler said that many residents are taking advantage of the snow which blankets the area.
"We walked down to the Boston Commons, which is probably two miles from our house. People were sledding and having snowball fights," said Dengler.
He added that the buses and subways are not scheduled to open in Boston until Monday morning and that school was closed.
