Montgomery County man arrested for shooting partygoers

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Clarksville police arrested a 23-year-old man early Saturday morning in connection to a shooting that occurred late last month.

Martavious Briggs was taken into police custody at a club located in the 200 block of Walker Street after receiving a tip.

On January 31 police reported that Martavious Briggs and his brother, Marcus Briggs, entered an apartment in Clarksville through an unlocked door carrying a handgun and a rifle.

The men started yelling at the people inside and opened fire.

Several people were injured.

Martavious Briggs was arrested on two counts of especially aggravated burglary.

Police are still looking for Marcus Briggs.

Martavious Briggs was booked into the Montgomery County Jail. His bond is set at $200,000.
