NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Police arrested an 18-year-old Nashville woman on charges she tried to extort money from a man and threatened to expose a false affair to the man's wife.

According to police affidavits, Kiarra Mason met the victim last fall and helped him pick out Christmas gifts for his wife.

The victim told police Mason got upset with him because he did not buy her in exchange for her help.

According to reports, from December 8 to December 28, Mason called and sent more than a dozen text messages trying to extort money by claiming that she was going to contact the victim's wife and tell her that they had an affair.

Police said she even threatened to call police and make a false claim that the man raped her sister.

In a recording of one of the phone calls, Mason can be heard demanding the victim pay her $1,000 or she was going to tell his wife "everything."

Mason was positively identified by the victim in a photo lineup.

She was charged with extortion and harassment and booked into the Metro jail.
