MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
A bicyclist injured after he was struck by a car Tuesday night in Murfreesboro has died.
According to police, Timothy Martin, 20, of Mt. Juliet, was attempting to walk his bicycle across Rutherford Boulevard around 8:20 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by Benjamin Conley.
Conley, 22, of Murfreesboro, was traveling south on Rutherford Boulevard near Belle Aire Baptist Church when the collision occurred.
Police said Martin stepped into the vehicle's path.
He was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation although charges against Conley are not anticipated, police said.
