CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
A Clarksville mother faces multiple charges for driving under the influence Monday night with her young daughter inside the vehicle.
According to Clarksville Now, the incident involving 30-year-old Amanda Smith occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Ringgold Road.
Arresting officers discovered Smith's four-year-old daughter unrestrained in the front seat of the vehicle.
The newspaper reported Smith, who appeared to be impaired at the time, told police she was driving on a suspended license and did not have proof of insurance.
A K-9 unit discovered marijuana inside the vehicle. Smith admitted she had smoked the illegal drug a short time earlier.
Smith was taken into police custody and is charged with reckless endangerment and DUI, among other charges.
She has since been released on a $2,250 bond.
The father of Smith's daughter and the Department of Children's Services were both notified of the incident.
